Houston In the Blind

Houston In the Blind

Houston In the Blind

I’ve just come from seeing the movie “Gravity”.
Man! To say Space is foreboding and dangerous, is a huge understatement!
The film really is a spectacle of special effects that are at once spellbinding and dread inducing.

After turning the movie over in my mind, one of the most terrifying
aspects that occurred at the beginning of the story, was the fact that they went
“off line”.
Houston was no longer in their ear, giving them permission to move here or there.
They were not able to tell them what to do, or more importantly, to help them.

The astronauts kept talking into their headsets, just in case, but they would always preface it:
“Houston in the blind”
Because they could only see what was right in front of them, they were blind to the bigger picture.

It occurred to me we all feel at times like God or source energy or spirit is Houston, and communications have been lost.

We could all start our prayers “Houston in the blind, this is Janet, I could use some help here”!
Without that communication thru meditation, prayer, or whatever way it is that you communicate with God, we are adrift, just trying our best to figure things out as they come.

Houston has suggestions,
Houston sees the bigger picture,
Houston has solutions,
Houston can lead you away from danger,
Houston has the soothing voice that reassures
And can keep you safe,
But you must keep your communications channels open, or you may as well be in the silent vacuum of space.

I think from now on, when I feel alone and lost, I will sit quietly for a few minutes and search
my internal dial for that reassuring sound of Houston in my ear, guiding me home.

Xox Janet
